Creative Caffeine/ Brainstorming Process

The Caffeine for the creative!! The girls and I went out to spire ideas for color selection and  implementation methodology, we decided for the collection's individual installation to develop our own stenciling concentrating with dynamic and intricate cutouts to show our individual style and unique perspective. This unique style would fragment the main goal of social connectedness if the stencils did not feel connected or conducive as a whole. So we decided for our hatch installation we would keep cohesion by sticking with one color (Azure Blue 255) this helps brand recognition as well as the unity of the piece as a whole.

The process started with research, brainstorming, and concept sketches to develop our individuality and stayed with the original theme of the bird some in flight and others perched to maintain a solid identity. The Five Members of the Collective decided to develop a letter each centered around our own style and bring the letters together after its full realization, instead of collectively deciding one a singular font type. This Idea is symbolic of the heterogeneous nature of the collective, showcasing the differences in personalities, ideas, and aesthetic qualities for each member.

To further our credential as a collective and gain more exposure, an of campus location was selected in the Highlandtown Arts District, The owner of The Skylofts galleries (www.skylofts.net) Eric Fondersmith allowed us to install along the outside of his building. Afterwards invited Hatch to coordinate a more permanent installation in the truck bay! along with an in gallery exhibit.
